Plan my vacation

I am (finally!!) taking my (fake) vacation from the 6th of January till the 23rd of January.
You are to plan my vacation for me and to send me a letter of proposition with the following details :
  • Destination (I speak only English, so I will need to travel to an English speaking country)
  • Travel (from Paris to the city/ cities you propose as well as internal travel within the city)
  • Accomodation (not too expensive please !)
  • Sight-seeing (places you recommend that I should visit in the city/ cities you propose)
I will be travelling with a friend and our twin-budget is an all-maximum of 6000 euros. We do not smoke, do not drive, would prefer a double-bed and a shower-toilet attached to our hotel room.
Your letter of proposition should be written in a formal tone. Kindly provide all the details I will require (prices, web-links) for each of the categories you will write about. Please do NOT give me the choice between the 2-3 types of accomodation you find. You do the work and paste your final proposition on your blog.

Thank you and have a lovely vacation (LOL!!)

class 10 nov

Quite a few of you missed class that day ! So here's what we did :
We worked on a couple of sheets in class from the coursebook Natural English (pages 6 and 8).
We spoke a lot and got to know each other better. It was a fun class for me and I hope it was the same for the rest of the class.
For home-work I would like you to reflect on the differences in the usage of the words could, would and should. When would we use these terms ? In what context ? Are they action words (verbs) ?  Try constructing different types of sentences with these words.

Language dead or alive?

Here's your first task :
You are expected to
search
and read
and find
and read some more
then select
and read even more
and then write about
and describe
in your own words
a 'lost' language: one that has died and been lost to human civilisation forever.
You could however also choose to speak about the findings of a "new" language : one that has recently been 'discovered'.
Happy searching !!

Who are you ?

Describe yourself ....
And your family ...
And your friends ...
And your hobbies ...
And your pets ...
And your plants ...
And your neighbours ....
In short ... everything you want to .... about YOU !
